Am I eligible for help?
Eligibility to receive food from our Food Pantry is defined each year by Ohio Job and Family Services as an income level that is normally at or below 200% of the federally defined poverty level for their family size. Under these guidelines, US census data indicate that about 35% of the residents of Tuscarawas County are eligible for food assistance, such as that provided by our Food Pantry.
How do I prepare for my visit to the food pantry?
- Show up during operating hours.
- Bring your photo IDโฆ(re: registration form โฆIf you are new to the pantry fill out the form and bring it with you.ย ย If you have the availability, otherwise one will be provided upon your arrival).
- Verify you meet the income requirements that are listedโฆNo proof is required.ย
Home Delivery
This is a service offered by the Greater Dover -Phila Food Pantry to provide a weekly supply of food for those who are not able to come to the Food Pantry. To qualify you must: be homebound, with no other means of getting food and meet the income requirements set by the government. Emergency Food
This is a service that is offered by the Greater Dover-Phila Food Pantry to provide food for those that find themselves without food, for example: being released from the hospital or other institution. To qualify you must: be homebound, with no other means of getting food. We will provide some food to get you by until the next time the Pantry is open. This is expected to be a one time only service, do not expect to use it twice. Our service area is Tuscarawas County. The phone number for this service is: (234) 801-8198.
Meals on Wheels
Welcome Meals on Wheels to the Tuscarawas Valley! Jay Varnes and his team are providing five meals that are ready to heat and serve to seniors during our Senior Box Distribution which is headed by Millie Page. These services happen on the first Wednesday of every month from 10am to noon.
How do I qualify?
Seniors threatened with hunger and social isolation make up the core of Meals on Wheels clients. Show up on Wednesday from 10 am to noon and someone will assist you with food.
